Hey y'all! It's been about three weeks since my latest EP, "Moody" was released to all streaming platforms. This is probably my most personal project I've released to this point and I'm proud I was able to take these songs from musings on my notepad to producing and performing them to be shared with the world. I'm proud to say that the response to this EP has been massive and it has become my most streamed project of all time within a short period, having already broken 1000 streams across all platforms. With that in mind, I wanted to highlight a few features from some amazing blogs and reviewers.
Necessary Outlet gave a stand out review and stated that "often playing with minimalist instrumentation, Silky Vibe’s emphasis is on emotion, delivered with the beautiful sadness of his vocal delivery and lyrics that cut like a knife. This is certainly a vibes-first collection of tracks that line up together as a cohesive, ambient experience."
A prominent feature of both my "Moody" and "Paradise" EPs, the goal with these works is to craft a cohesive experience that gives the listener the chance to embrace a theme or idea. I wanted both projects to capture my personal experiences and touch on themes of longing, romantic turbulence, introspection, and more.
On a similar note, Hit Harmony Haven wrote of my track "Wontcha" that "the production flirts with lo-fi textures and trap undertones, creating a sound that feels intimate but uncertain—like a conversation that could heal or unravel everything." And also of the final track "My Sweet" Hit Harmony Haven proclaimed "you can hear acceptance creeping into his tone—a subtle understanding that growth doesn’t erase pain but redefines it. It’s an exquisite ending that leaves the listener suspended between sadness and serenity, the hallmark of a storyteller who knows how to make emotion linger." Both songs were two of my most personal on the project and really helped to tell the story of realization and also acceptance of pain from a bad relationship.
Dulaxi wrote of the EP, “Moody EP is a Deeply Intimate And Lush Collection Blending Sultry Vocals With Reflective Melodies, Capturing Raw Vulnerability, Emotional Turbulence, And An Introspective Journey Through The Aftermath Of Love.”
Indie Music Flix described the flow and quality of the EP, stating “there is a unique synergy that makes the EP feel like an invitation into the artist’s world rather than just a performative product.”
Following up with WavMax, I got to go a bit more in depth on the project and talk through my creative process in an interview. It was a pleasure to sit down and walk through elements of production and songwriting as well as how I went about coming up with the EP's concept.
All in all, I'm inspired by the press this EP has received and I'm excited for the future. Since I just crossed the one year mark of my guitar playing journey, I held a little at home concert in which I performed live acoustic versions of some of my favorite artists' songs as well as some variations of my originals. It was a ton of fun recording live and giving a different take on some of my catalog so be on the lookout for that live album to close out 2025. Thank you for rocking with me and be blessed!
